Quarter 3 Review- 3/12

004 Historical Comedy – Old

I wasn’t prepared for the deadpan horror humor of The Bognor Regis Vampire from 1979.  An old-fashioned gaffer and his stiff upper lip wife who live in Bognor Regis have their evening interrupted by the unexpected arrival of an urbane and rather apologetic vampire named Tompkinson who drains the blood of their butler Jarvis and affectionately eyes their well-endowed maid Hilda.  They give him quite a generous offer, to become their new hired help, getting fed by a local blood bank and living in the attic which has plenty of room for him to fly around.  He declines their offer, to his peril.  It was written by JCW Brook.
